Oct. 4, 2010 – Postmark deadline for Honor Choir audition CDs/tapes, audition fees, and Nomination Forms to Suzanne Lee. Please note that this deadline has been extended due to the fact that the SC Musician will not be printed this fall. Audition materials will NOT be accepted after this date.

Oct. 16, 2010 - Tapes will be judged. Results will be sent to teachers the following week.

Nov. 15, 2010 - Postmark deadline for teachers to send Honor Choir Member registrations & fees to Suzanne Lee.

February 3-5, 2011 – SCMEA In-Service Conference and SC Elementary Honor Choir Weekend. Note: All teachers having students in the Honor Choir must register for the conference as well as register at the Sheraton on Thursday, February by 8:00 p.m., or on Friday, February by 11:30 a.m. This is so you can pick up revised information concerning the choir and Honor Certificates. Teachers who do not register will risk being asked not to participate next year.

Thursday and Friday Rehearsals at the Sheraton in North Charleston

Teachers of honor’s choir members must register for the conference or risk being asked not to participate in the future. During rehearsals, someone from each school must be in the rehearsal room in case a student is ill and parents need to be contacted.

Directions to the North Charleston Embassy Suites Convention Center:

Turn left at the light onto Montague

Travel about .5 mile

After the 3^rd light, the Performing Arts Center Convention center will be on your right.

Enter the Convention Center parking lot ( Ptl Tony name of drive to enter.).

Parking is $4.00. Please make sure you have correct amount. Park and enter into the Convention Center under the canopy marked “Ballroom”.

Look for Honor Choir teachers holding signs with sections labeled on them. Please find your section and remain with those teachers. Parents please return to the Ballroom entrance and wait to enter. Do not leave anything with your child nametags, music, water bottle, coats etc. Following the performance students will exit the Ballroom by sections parents you should exit at that time to locate your child. This is an effort to keep the traffic flow moving. Thank you in advance for your cooperation.

SCEHC Uniform

The S.C. Elementary Honor Choir Uniform will consist of the choir golf shirt, black pants for boys, black pants or skirts for girls, black hose if the girls wear a skirt, and either navy blue or black dress shoes. Please no tennis shoes. The choir golf shirts are 100% white cotton pique polo. They are designed with a special Honor Choir logo in black and gold. Water bottles and pencils with a logo will be given to each student.

Plaques and Medallions

Order your Honor Choir commemorative plaques and/or medallions to recognize your school and students participating in the South Carolina Elementary Honor Choir.

The 7x9 cherry finish plaque is double plated with a brass engraved top plate with your school’s name, district, and date.

The 2 ½ inch medallion has a 2 inch insert engraved with the group logo, date, and location and is on a black/gold neck ribbon.
