It’s hard to believe but 2024 is in full swing. All-State Auditions are complete and it’s on to the conference.
We hope you have already made plans to join us February 8-10 at the Columbia Metropolitan Convention Center for the 2024 SCMEA Professional Development Conference! The event will kick off Thursday at 2:00 PM featuring the Wando High School Honors Orchestra. The Orchestra Division has planned a weekend with a variety of sessions, featuring more performances and reading sessions than ever before. Preview our Orchestra Division schedule

Building the South Carolina Graded Music List – while everyone is selecting and rehearsing pieces for CPA and Spring Performances, we would like to start building our updated SC Graded Music List. The link above will take you to the Google form to submit your recommended piece. You may submit as many works as you would like – just remember to fill out the Google form for each piece. If you have any questions or need help with anything, contact Colleen Marcou at colleen.marcou@scmea.net.
At this point, this form is just to collect “data” (pieces/works).

Welcome to the South Carolina Music Educators Association Orchestra Division! Our mission is to promote and support the development of string classes and orchestra programs in South Carolina schools. Our state is comprised of five regions, with each region hosting various musical events that strengthen music education for our students. These events include Region and Allstate Orchestras, Concert Performance Assessment, and Solo and Ensemble Festivals. The goal for our website is that it will serve as a valuable resource for educators, students, and parents as they seek information about the programs throughout our state. Please ensure your NAfME and SCMEA membership is updated as portions of our site are member-protected.
