Description
Providence Classical School exists to cultivate students of wisdom and virtue by educating to the highest standards of the classical, Christian tradition for the glory of God. Teaching Responsibilities: • Conduct oneself with Christ-like professional behavior•Maintain an orderly, clean, and joyful classroom • Lift students’ hearts and minds to the transcendentals of truth, goodness and beauty•Create an atmosphere of schole • Teach general music classes including: ▪ K-6: Rhythm and Meter, Melody and Tonality, Form, Texture and Harmony through exploration and play with a focus on solfege methodology ▪ 7-8: Choral focus with theory, history, choral literacy • Lead choral ensembles: Upper School, Grammar School (before school) • Integrate with Simply Providence Academy in a class and all-school programs • Organize and lead worship for monthly chapel service • Coordinate and direct all-school Adeste Fideles Lessons and Carols Christmas service • Plan and lead spring Fine Arts showcase • Plan and lead Upper School musical theater program • Participate in state competitions such as Honor Choir and All-State • Assist in planning and leading Opening Convocation, Recitation Days, and Graduation • Cultivate professional development relationships in the community • Praise hard work, effort, and aptitude as well as good behavior and character • Utilize classical methodology in instruction•Communicate regularly and clearly with parents • Foster collegiality amongst faculty and staff • Grow as a lifelong learner by studying in and outside your subject area, reading or listening to classical literature and classical education books, articles, and podcasts • Daily duties as assigned Schedule: • Tuesday – Friday, 35 Weeks, 7:25am - 3:45pm • Monday rehearsal times as needed for performances • Other work days include Faculty Orientation Week, January Monday Professional Development day, monthly FacultyMeetings • Daily duties as assigned • Summer Professional Development
Requirements

• Knowledgeable and enthusiastic
• Strong communication and organization skills
• Previous teaching experience preferred
