Description
Director of Music/ Organist Position (Part-Time)/ Charleston, SC Area Seeking a person with competence in church music to lead a traditional weekly worship service with organ and/or piano accompaniment, along with directing an adult choir. Additional duties include directing a children’s choir for monthly appearances, supervising a bell choir, and providing music for weddings and funerals as needed. This person should be able to actively recruit and develop volunteer choir members, including youth. He/she will work with the pastor/staff to plan music, integrating with the service theme and should have a strong knowledge of liturgy and repertoire selection. Technical requirements include experience leading a choir in a ministry setting, proficiency in organ and piano accompaniment, and the ability to collaborate with instrumentalists.
