I hope this email finds you all doing well and getting ready to enjoy a wonderful Thanksgiving Holiday!
I wanted to remind you of two important SCMEA items:
#1. The deadline to submit nominations for any SCMEA Awards is NEXT FRIDAY, DECEMBER 1ST. Do you know of a student, colleague, administrator, or business that should be recognized? Please visit our website to see the list of awards that SCMEA sponsors.

- Friend of Music Education Award
- Friend of Music Education Business Award
- Hall of Fame Award
- Honor Administrator Award
- Memorial Scholarship Award
- Outstanding Young Music Educator Award
Often many of these awards go without nominations, so I encourage you to look at our list of awards and nominate someone who should be recognized!
#2. REGISTRATION IS NOW OPEN for SCMEA’s 75th Anniversary Conference!
We have an inspiring conference lined up for February, and we want to make sure everyone plans to attend and celebrate SCMEA’s 75th Birthday! We are changing things up this year with an EARLIER start on Thursday with a kick-off concert featuring VOCTAVE @ 2 pm and want to make sure we have a packed house for this concert!
Hotels are filling up quickly, so please be sure to request/schedule your professional development with your administration as soon as possible! To assist this process, SCMEA has provided an “official letter” that we hope can aid you in your request.
Finally, register by January 15th to receive the $100 registration rate. After January 15th, the rate goes to $160 and will be $160 onsite. Click here for conference registration information.
